About Dandeli Western Ghats
Dandeli is a wildlife sanctuary situated in the Karnataka State of India. With more than 300 bird species it is a fantastic birding hotspot. Kali Tiger Reserve is also home to the black panther, tiger, Malabar Giant Squirrel, and Indian leopard. It is also a destination for white water rafting for more adventurous birders who frequent Dandeli.

Birds seen at Dandeli are: Malabar Pied Hornbill, Malabar trogon, White-bellied blue flycatcher, Little spider hunter, White-cheeked barbet, Gold fronted leaf bird, Iindian Yellow and black-lored tit, Orange minivet, Nilgiri wood Pigeon, Small minivet, Pampadour Pigeon, Blue faced malkoha,Malabar Grey hornbill, Emerald dove, Green Imperial Pigeon, Sri Lankan frogmouth, Mountain Imperial Pigeon, Jerdon’s nightjar, Black-bellied tern, Whiskered tern, White-rumped spine tailed swift, Dark-fronted babbler, Brown-backed needle tail, Lesser coucal, Banded bay cuckoo, Grey-bellied cuckoo, Great hornbill, Eurasian wryneck, Cinnamon bittern, Greater painted snipe, Temminck’s stint, Little Pratincole, Flame throated and Yellow-browed bulbul, Streak throated woodpecker, Heart spotted woodpecker and more.
Standard Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Londha Jn – Birding Session
We will meet you at Londha Jn at 9:30 am and then drive to Dandeli. After checking in at the resort, we will have lunch and then embark on our first birding session around the resort. Get ready for some interesting sightings! We will end the day with a delicious dinner. All meals are included – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Day 2: Birding Session
Today, we will spend the entire day birdwatching and photographing in Dandeli. You will have ample time to spot and capture shots of various species of birds. All meals are as per resort timings.
Day 3: Birding Session – Leave for Ganeshgudi
On day 3, we will have our last birding session in Dandeli. After lunch, we will check out and head to Ganeshgudi. Upon arrival, we will check in at our resort and continue our birding adventures with the guidance of our expert birding guide. We will celebrate our findings and experiences at the end of the day. All meals are included – Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Day 4: Early Morning Birding – Check Out – Departure from Belgaum Airport
On the last day of our tour, we will embark on one last birding session in Ganesh Gudi Village before we check out. After the birding session, we will have breakfast and then head to Belgaum Airport or Londha Jn for the onward journey home. We hope you had a wonderful time bird-watching with us.
