About Desert National Park Birding Group Tour
Desert National Park is part of Thar Desert in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Characterized by extensive grasslands, it is home to an array of bird species, reptiles, and mammals.
The bird species seen are as follows: Common Kestrel, Yellow Eyed Pigeon, Black Francolin, Rain Quail, Laggar falcon, Great Indian Bustard, Chestnut Bellied Sand Grouse, Barbary Falcon, bimaculated lark, Himalayan Vulture, Asian Desert Warbler, Pallid Harrier, Steppe Eagle, Tufted Duck, Gadwall, Long-legged Buzzard, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Read-headed Vulture, Griffon Vulture, Merlin, Red Necked Falcon, Bonelli’s Eagle, Hen and Pallid Harrier, Montagu’s Harrier, Cinereous Vulture, Demoiselle Crane, Common Pochard, Ferruginous Duck, Indian Courser, Cream Colored Courser, and Common Crane, among others. Desert National Park is home to vipers, scorpions, foxes, and gazelle.
Standard Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Jaisalmer – Transfer to Resort – Evening Birding Session
Upon your arrival at Jaisalmer station or airport, we will transfer you to the resort. After checking in, you can freshen up and enjoy a delicious lunch. We will have an introductory session and follow it with an evening birding session. We’ll turn back to the resort for dinner and a good night’s rest. Meals for the day include lunch and dinner.
Day 2: Birding Sessions
Day 2 is all about birding at the Desert National Park. We will spend most of the day spotting various bird species. We will take a break for lunch and tea, and then continue with our bird watching sessions. We’ll turn back to the resort at night for an overnight stay. Meals for the day include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 3: Birding Sessions
On Day 3, we will continue our bird watching sessions with the same routine as Day 2. We will take a break for lunch and tea and then continue with the spotting. Meals for the day include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 4: Morning Birding Session – Check out from Resort – Departure
We’ll have one more morning birding session on the last day, after which we’ll break for lunch. Following that, we will check out from the wildlife resort and move to Jaisalmer or Jodhpur for your journey home. Meals for the day include breakfast. The tour concludes with wonderful memories, and we hope you enjoyed our service.
