About Tal Chhapar Birding Tours

Tal Chappar Sanctuary is a birding hotspot in the Churu District of Rajasthan. It is a heaven for bird watchers and animal watchers alike. A former hunting ground for the Royals, it is spread over an area of 797 hectares where 300 species of birds are seen. The destination is home to an amazing 40 species of raptors. The avians seen here are Eastern Imperial Eagle, Shot Toed Snake Eagle, Black Ibis, Tawny Eagle, Montagu’s Harrier, Demoiselle Crane, Pale Harrier, Southern Grey Shrike, Desert Wheatear, Indian Eagle Owl, Sparrow Hawk, Indian Spotted Creeper, Merlin, Saker Falcon, Red Necked Falcon Greater Flamingo, Indian Spotted Creeper, Great Indian Bustard, Sociable Lapwing, Red Phalarope, Variable Wheatear, Desert wheatear, Water Pipit, Crest, Black Drongo, Red Tailed Wheatear, Greater Short-toed Lark, and Red-necked Falcon, among others. The sanctuary is also home to 40,000 black bucks and many small Indian predators.

Standard Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Jaipur – Transfer to Resort – Birding Session

Welcome to Jaipur! We will transfer you from the airport to the wildlife resort in Tal Chhapar. After checking in, freshening up, and enjoying a delicious lunch, we will have a bonding session at the resort. Later in the day, we will set out for bird watching in the sanctuary. We will end the day with dinner and a restful sleep at the resort. Meals: Lunch, Dinner.

Day 2: Birding Sessions

Day 2 is dedicated to exploring different areas of the Tal Chappar Black Buck Sanctuary, where we will be on high alert for spotting exciting bird species and photographing them. The resort will serve food at intervals throughout the day. In the evening, we will return to the resort for a delicious dinner and restful sleep. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: Morning Birding Session – Check out – Transfer to Jaipur Airport

On the last day, we will head out once again for a morning birding session to spot even more species before returning to the resort for breakfast.
